CertainTeed Corporation is North America's largest manufacturer of vinyl siding as well as a prominent manufacturer of other building materials, such as roofing, insulation, windows, fence, decking and pipe. With roots going back to 1904, General Roofing Manufacturing Company was created in East St. Louis, Illinois and has evolved into CertainTeed Corporation Since 1988, CertainTeed has been a subsidiary of Saint-Gobain, one of the world's top one hundred industrial corporations. Today, the home office is located in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. CertainTeed products are highly rated by architects, builders, contractors, and remodelers. For eleven years in a row, independent surveys have identified CertainTeed as the number one choice of architects, designers, builders, and remodelers.

Wolverine Vinyl Siding

The Wolverine vinyl siding line consist of a variety of styles, including beaded, flat, Dutch lap, and clapboard in a variety of sizes, colors, and finishes, including authentic wood grain. Despite the unique features and different price ranges, all models feature StudFinder and StudNailing technology, RigidForm for enhanced stability, and the DuraLock or GripLock systems for easy, one-person installations because of its larger than ordinary locks so panels snap securely together for fast, secure installation. The StudFinder installation system is unique because no other siding offers an engineered installation guide on every panel, guaranteed to facilitate speedy, precise, and assured installation. By centering indicator letters under each nail slot, StudFinder makes locating studs a cinch. Secure fastening to studs not only improves siding performance but also eliminates the hazards of inadvertently hitting electrical wiring, plumbing, or mechanical systems concealed in the wall space with an errant nail. StudFinder is featured on all traditional CertainTeed sidings and has been tested to be up to twenty-five percent faster to install than any other vinyl siding. Several product lines, such as Cedar Impressions and Northwoods, feature the TrueTexture finish, which is molded from real cedar shingles, for the most natural and realistic look possible without using actual wood. CertainTeed Corporation produces two different choices of cedar shingle siding: Cedar Impressions is made of injection molded polymer that simulates genuine wood shingles and rough-split shakes; Northwoods employs a unique continuous vacuum-form process to create vinyl shakes that duplicate real cedar shakes. CertainTeed's Fiber cement siding contains thirty percent pre-consumer recycled material, which means it earns LEED credits in two categories. The company also recycles the water it uses during production, and most of its raw materials originate within 500 miles of their plants.
